I had to retire my SMC 7004 router (which had a parallel port) because it couldn't communicate with my new Cisco Wi-Fi router. So this device was a great replacement and after a bit of a struggle I'm happy to report that it works. My printer, the HP Laserjet 2420, is my workhorse for reliable, fast two-sided printing. Basic preparation steps: 1. Check out the installation CD - the PDF manual on the CD is pretty solid. What you get (printed booklet) that comes in the box is a bit useless.2. This device comes with the address 192.168.0.1 (usually the address of the router!). So you may need to rename it to a higher address. See next point - connected.3. Also, my network is not at 192.168.0.x so I also had to use an old router with 192.168.0.x to allow my browser to access 192.168.0.1 TE100. Change the TE100's IP to match the range for my current network system as I didn't want to mess up a running router. So for the first hour I couldn't even reach the print server.4. If you are using OSX 10.7, change the 2nd port to 631 - as mentioned in the PDF document. It's Fang 22 - their wizard software can't find your router so it's useless (to me). I had to use the web url method to find it - after making changes for #2 and #3 My Windows 7 Professional: 1. I didn't use the autorun method because the wizard my TE100- P1P.2 could NOT find. Page 45 as insisted in the user manual - everything worked fine. My OSX is 10.71. Follow page 65 for some adjustments that worked for me. Although the server started when I clicked +, it was Bonjour by default and I couldn't change it. So I ignored this method and added it by IP address.2. I used the IPP3 protocol. I configured the second port method for 6314. I left the queue EMPTY. This got my laserjet working! I'm sure there are better steps for Mac 10.7 setup - hopefully this will save you 1-2 hours of wasted work. For this reason I deduct 1 star. In fact, I think it's 3.5 stars. I'm surprised there really isn't any competition for this important device.
