Review on Magnetic Helping Hand for Soldering and Electronic Repairs: PCB Circuit πŸ”§ Board Holder with LED Magnifying Lamp, Flexible Metal Arms, and Heavy-Duty Base by Adam Roman

Such an improvement over the old style.

Bought but was skeptical. Got it the other day and it's really good, well thought out, designed. I didn't use a backlight or a magnifying glass, but this is just an ingenious solution: I can put the board in almost any position and make it solid. The clips are well made, they don't bite (although I think I can remove the plastic or rubber bits that let them just clip if I need alligator clips for some reason) and I also think they're up to standard so You can replace them in some jobs for certain reasons. It's durable and when you attach the rubber feet, it won't slip. Gooseneck clips plus four pointed clips that you can use to align them to fit a four hole PCB. The only improvement I can think of is to somehow design them in such a way that you can use pointed parts to attach them. But that's not a complaint, just a suggestion. worth your money!

Pros
  • Magnetic Flex Arms: 4 adjustable metal gooseneck arms with powerful magnetic bases that are strongly attracted to the steel base. We've included two 9-inch arms, two 4.5-inch arms helping hands, so you can completely free your hands and work easier than ever.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
