Watercolor Paper Reference

This was my first time using Arches paper. I had high expectations and they were definitely met. I especially like the thickness and stiffness of this paper. It doesn't warp or warp as much as many other papers I've used. It holds up to tons of wet washing, scrubbing and repeated glazing very well. It also absorbs moisture more slowly than other papers I've used, which I prefer as it extends the life of the ink and as I live in a warm environment I need all the benefits in that regard. I've tried a few mixed media and watercolor papers but never used 100% cotton. They're good enough that I'll keep using them, but I keep hearing about Arches. From artists raving about it to reviewers using it as a benchmark for other papers, the Arches name seemed synonymous with the finest watercolor paper. Present justice on the right paper. So I was happy to spend money on Arches. Unless something better comes along, I'll always have Arches on hand for my best work.
