Description of 🎨 Arches Watercolor Paper Pad, 140 LB, Cold Press - Ideal for Artists, 9"x12

The cold press finish has a light texture and is the most common. It reflects light well, retaining the transparent quality of watercolours. A light grain makes it easier to achieve certain details. All Arches papers are cylinder mould made as they have been for over a century. With long fibers, this thick, stable sheet is beautiful, durable, and resillient. Each sheet of Arches Watercolour is tub-sized in a bath of pure natural gelatin and then air dried to add additional strength and durability. The best quality control. Our paper undergoes sophisticated testing and monitoring, with every sheet individually inspected to assure the finest quality. Contains one pad with 12 sheets, 300 GSM

THE BEST INK BLENDING PAPER IN MY OPINION

The best thing about this paper is that it's the only paper I've found for Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Mixed Inks. The mascara blends beautifully! I would like the same quality on white paper. But I take great pleasure in mixing ink. Whereas before I absolutely hated working with colors. I could never get a smooth mix that I was happy with.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Modernity

I was skeptical when I bought it, but took it anyway.

I was rather skeptical when I bought it, but I took the risk anyway. Since I only use pencils and graphite, I was looking for a paper that could properly soak up the medium for the layers of depth needed for realistic work. I assure you, this paper will not disappoint you. I was just blown away by the difference paper can make to create more realistic pieces. 100/5 stars would buy Arches FOREVER!ig iamkingmigu3l

Premium Cotton Paper

Arches Watercolor is by far the best 100% cotton fiber paper available in pillow form at a reasonable price. It's thick and sturdy, 140 lbs (300 gsm), absorbency and consistency, you'll find it at Arches. The texture is rough and it's great for both amateur and professional artists. It absorbs color evenly, allows you to blend edges, excellent layering, and doesn't damage easily when removing color for highlights. It's strong enough to withstand multiple washes, masking liquids, scrapers, and…

Watercolor Paper Reference

This was my first time using Arches paper. I had high expectations and they were definitely met. I especially like the thickness and stiffness of this paper. It doesn't warp or warp as much as many other papers I've used. It holds up to tons of wet washing, scrubbing and repeated glazing very well. It also absorbs moisture more slowly than other papers I've used, which I prefer as it extends the life of the ink and as I live in a warm environment I need all the benefits in that regard. I've…

Invest the money - it's worth it

I've been painting with watercolor pencils for 5 or 6 years and recently also watercolor markers. I've always bought pretty good paper - the Strathmore 400 series and other decent papers - but to be honest I've dismissed the Arches as a 'snobbish attraction', I mean it's more than twice the quality of the competition , and I've always thought that it won't make much of a difference. .Unfortunately that's how it is. I say "unfortunately" because it's expensive! If you don't flood the paper with…
