As Revain mentioned, removing the large paper label is a REAL problem. I use GooGone to remove the labels from my stuff, it works but you have to be patient and take your time. Here's my effort for this label: Remove the clear plastic backing from the (large) paper sticker, AND THEN remove as much of the enamel paper backing from the sticker as you can - THEN - spray GooGone onto the remaining sticky adhesive paper. Give the chemical some time to break down the glue. The sticky glue turns into a soft "jelly" substance that can be gently scraped off with a credit card or similar plastic blade. Do not use a metal blade. Wipe the gunk off the ruler with a paper towel and repeat the process with another dose of GooGone to wash away the slight residue on the ruler. Yes, it's time consuming, so be prepared to take your time. I'm not sure why Berkeley chose this particular adhesive. I think everyone who buys it will agree that a less aggressive adhesive would be a lot better for the consumer, but that's just my 2 cent opinion.
