Very uncomfortable sticker on the ruler

In general, the quality of the ruler is normal. All sharp edges are ground. The two main problems I have are: Marking the ruler at about 1/16 inch. Another problem I have is a nasty sticker on the product. It is wrapped on both sides of the ruler. I bet I'll have to remove every square inch with my finger and then spend extra time removing the glue from the ruler.

Good for quick and accurate measurements

Good for quick and accurate measurements of fish. It's too short for some sea fish. The numbers are difficult to read and the line they correspond to is sometimes confusing. You can't tell if the line is first or second if there is a fish on it. I had it a long time ago and the salt made the white faded line even harder to read.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Modern

Misleading Product Description

The description says it measures fish up to 22" but the ruler number starts at 10" from the stop on the end. So you can't accurately measure a fish under 10" unless you move it to the 10" mark and you can't use the end stop. In addition, there is a sticker that wraps around the entire ruler and it's impossible to get out without leaving glue on it. There is a very poor design choice here.

Could be better

This fishing line does the job but could be better. My biggest complaint is that it came with the most difficult-to-remove paper label I've ever dealt with. I ended up taking it off by soaking it in warm water for an hour and then scrubbing it thoroughly. My other complaint is that the shortest possible measurement is 10 inches - all they had to do was add a few shorter marks to the ruler. I understand that most fish under 10 inches are too short, but there might be a reason to ever reach the…

Ruler doesn't quite fit

I've read other reviews that describe the incredibly sticky adhesive on the label. You were very accurate! I spent the better part of a college football game peeling and scraping the label with a plastic scraper and rubbing alcohol to remove any residual adhesive. I wrote to Berkeley describing the problem. I still have a few of these rulers and I expect the gold color of this ruler to fade in the sun and the lines and numbers to become less noticeable as well. I circled them with permanent…

Nice ruler but the label is a real problem.

As Revain mentioned, removing the large paper label is a REAL problem. I use GooGone to remove the labels from my stuff, it works but you have to be patient and take your time. Here's my effort for this label: Remove the clear plastic backing from the (large) paper sticker, AND THEN remove as much of the enamel paper backing from the sticker as you can - THEN - spray GooGone onto the remaining sticky adhesive paper. Give the chemical some time to break down the glue. The sticky glue turns into…
