This external wall console with keypad is marketed as universal for all LiftMasters made after 1995. Mine was built much later. The old wall unit failed after about 8 years so I ordered this as a replacement. We have three (3) car remotes and a motion sensor wall unit for our 3/4 HP LiftMaster. Here's a quick rundown of the issues we've encountered to make this device work. Instructions are TERRIBLE! They don't tell you anything about keeping the device at least 10 feet away from the engine while trying to program it! Within this 10 foot distance, the device will NOT program.2. After contacting Revain support (which helped a lot btw - a real plus and Bella the agent went out of her way to help me!) they tried various troubleshooting methods which didn't work. The agent contacted LiftMaster.3 technical support. LiftMaster provided some additional steps to install the device which again should have been included in the attached instructions.4. Finally it worked! But - a small problem (actually 3 BIG problems). None of the car remote controls saved their program and didn't work!5. Reprogrammed the car remotes to work, only to find out that the external keyboard remote is NOT working now! Oh joy! Here we go again, up and down the ladder to hit the red "Learn" button. 6 Reprogram the remote using the LiftMaster clear instructions sent to me by Revain Product Support. It worked! Checked car remote controls. They worked! I crossed my fingers and checked the motion sensor remote. It worked! 7. I finished the job and put my tools away after hearing my wife giggle at my stubborn determination to do this instead of calling the repair shop we normally use. In short, a job that shouldn't take more than 15 minutes with one drive. The ladder took 6 HOURS in a cold garage! Multiple rides up and down the ladder! BOW! At least 45 minutes chat with Revain Product Support! At one point I was sooo tempted to rip this thing off the wall, shove it back in the box and return it but we NEED this keyboard to work and besides I didn't want to admit I couldn't install anything, so damn easy! LiftMaster - get together!
