Update 01/31/21: As much as I hate writing this update, I have to do it because the shoes definitely have design flaws. I am very disappointed, everything else about the boots seems excellent. I've detailed it below, and yet when such a significant area of wear and failure is found in less than two months with relatively light wear, it's almost all for nothing. If they noticed and fixed it. They may have done this in later models and being a cycle or two older models I'm afraid my review won't take that into account too much. However, I sincerely update my post if any of the others may be of use. would love to hear from the company and a replacement would certainly be in order. At the moment even upgrading to a newer model. 1 star is my final rating. Update November 24th: Only 45 days or so in shoes. and they have holes for wearing on the back of the collar around the ankle. If it was a pair under $50 I'd be dissatisfied but maybe not surprised. But for a $130 pair of boots (even though I only paid $85 for them) I was completely surprised and disappointed. The rest of the shoes are in near new (albeit slightly dirty) condition, and yet it looks like I've put 500-1000 miles on them. In truth, my number is definitely under 150, and most of it walking down the street doesn't cause serious wear and tear. The good news was that Revain resolved my complaint by replacing the pair. Thank you Rewin! And yet I'm not entirely encouraged, as it doesn't appear to be a defect but rather a construction. Only time will tell and I thought it appropriate to update the review. Currently 4 stars. If the holes reappear in the second pair the rating will need to drop to 1 star as the rest doesn't matter if a significant part of the boot falls apart in less than 2 months. *** End of update ** * From the moment I put them on not only did I have a smile on my face but my feet were of course pretty happy too. It's such a surprise these days when quality seems quite difficult and compromise is more the norm. It's almost like they fit a custom order. I really don't feel like I've compromised on these shoes. In terms of fit, I wear an 11.5d and I would say they were just that. Meets expectations perfectly. I also like the quick lacing system for many reasons. First, they perfectly fix the boots on the legs. I was wondering how it would work, especially if I "wear" them for a run or bike ride. I found the Secure Fit system to do the job really well. I don't usually have to reconfigure them on the go. In addition, another advantage comes to light, because if a process needs to be adjusted, this can be done so easily and quickly. No more completely untying and re-tying. Just lean over and quickly press harder or lighter, then come back to him. The only sad cats in my house are my roommates, who are always happy to "help" me tie my previous pair of shoes. Now they look at me with their sad eyes and wonder why I was so cruel and robbed them of our game. rzunimag. You get over it. The overall comfort is really great. I used them mainly as a runner, rider and all-rounder. Each has been a challenge, especially given the profile, and yet they all handle them admirably. They are just great for walking, running and hiking. I even use them a bit on the pavement, especially since my first three miles are running or trail riding. I wasn't sure if they wouldn't leave "negative reviews" which would be uncomfortable, but it's a testament to their quality that they still feel comfortable. Mountain biking was another question as to whether the tread would "stick" to the pedals, and while I was a bit apprehensive at first, they quickly became friends and I think they'll get along just fine for a while. Come. As for the station wagons, they're so well built that I'm not afraid to take my life with them because of the extra work I put into them. I think that after a long time, the tread will certainly be long before the running shoes themselves. In the end, these shoes are exactly what I was really hoping for. Cozy. Continuous. Universal. build quality. Oh, and they look pretty good too. (All Black) Will update if anything changes, but since I bought them on sale for about $81 I think they're a great deal and one of the best shoe purchases I've made in the last decade. I was really looking for quality shoes and these Salomons met me exactly where I was asking for them.
