Although it took me a while to figure it out too, THE WOMAN WHO BOUGHT IT COULD NOT GET IT WORKING, I understand why, it takes a ladder to get a knob on the motor to press and it will sync to the controller , (lesson: read the instructions). (This is the second from the original opener which is 11 years old now, we still have it so we have two now.) BUT. something has changed and now I can't stop any of the openers from opening the door on the first try in the morning. Prior to the addition of this new controller, this was never the case. It partially opens when I'm standing near the door and not about 50 feet away like it was before. BOOO! So now I have to bring it to the door and then use it. IN WINTER WE DON'T POLLUTE THE STREET, WE PARK ON THE STREET. It's cold here in the Northwest, and that opens the barn door. Wouldn't you like to let the heat out of our spoiled animal stables or make us humans callous? But so glad it works, better than nothing, and bypassing what I had to do when the power went out during a snow storm. Oh joy!
