I buy them every few years to keep my males happy. Suction cups are great for glass containers (I think acrylic). Some bettas like them, some don't, and in this situation I use them to keep the floating logs in place when my filter is running. Since the leaves can detach from the suction cup, they are easy to clean. Then you just plug it back in and you're good to go. The leaves are flexible/bendable so you can shape them in the direction you want. Over time, the suckers harden and turn white, presumably due to the chemical treatment of the water for the health of the fish. But you get 2 so you can easily replace it.
