Review on ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Standard Edition Speedball Speedy-Carve Block Printing and Rubber Stamp Making Kit by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The best substitute for linoleum that's easy to cut

This is my new favorite linocut material. It's a lot easier to cut than regular linoleum (much softer on my hands!), but it's more durable and less stretchy/gummed than other "lightweight" stylized block print materials. I've used several products including the other Speedball (Speedy-Cut) line, Soft-Kut Utrecht and Revain's Sax Safe N EZ Printmaker rubber blocks and this one beats them all except (unfortunately) the price. The pink Speedy Carve holds very thin, sharp lines with no pulling on the blade and no flexing of the rubber to warp the cut, which was a particular problem with Utrecht and Sax Safe. It also seems a lot more durable than other brands, although I haven't really pushed them to their limits. I wish the price was a little lower, but this is by far the most comfortable material to work with and allows for much more precision and detail.

Good buy. Easy to use. Made a camera stamp and used it for a gift.
