I write with different types of markers and I usually don't prefer very thick and not very liquid acrylic ink. I've used Speedball Super pigmented acrylic ink in the past, which was perfect except that a few drops of water had to be added to the ink to adjust viscosity and flow. Liquitex is marketed as anhydrous so this time I tried this brand and was disappointed. The ink is too runny to use with dip pens and the black isn't as dark as a lightly soaked speedball. The number of words I can write in one tap is also 1/2 to 2/3 of the words Speedball uses. The Speedball ink is solid black while this Liquitex is more of a dark gray. The ink tips are significantly larger than the speedball. Color wise, I found Daler Rowney to be another thick, low-bleed color. Daler Rooney also requires the addition of a few drops of water. If you create large graphics with a brush rather than a pen on less absorbent coated paper, this brand might be a good choice, but I keep coming back to Speedball and Daler Rowney. Update July 2021 I tried Liquitex acrylic ink. in a technical pen (Staedtler Mars Matic 700, line width = 08) and this ink works well in a pen. With a smaller line width it can still bleed a bit (not tested yet but based on my experience with dip tips) but not noticeable with such a wide line width of 0.8mm. Ink flow is noticeably better than many other inks, and it writes wet and confident. This ink doesn't seem to clog the nib, at least at this size. I've come back to edit my review to add this observation, partly because a lot of the acrylics and paints I've tried contain coarse pigment particles or some sort of dried ink binder. mixed solids, and they tend to clog engineering pens. This problem has never been a problem with dive grips. (Tip: Shake the ink bottle a few hours before filling the ink to mix the fine pigment particles, allow enough time for dirt and large particles to sink into the water, and collect the supernatant with a syringe without using the " Sediment" to fill the pen.) I still think Liquitex is less dark than most other inks, but I would prefer reliability to a lighter color.
