You can also make a diffuser out of a piece of white sheet metal, but that's not always optimal. Legs also take up quite a bit of space. They require a very large table to use. You cannot mount them on a tripod because they are not compatible with 1/4" or 3/8" mounting screws. Your only option is to mount it on a table. I'm sure if they were dimmable they could be used a lot more as table lamps.
