Great product at any price

This is for the Panasonic BDT270 Blu-ray DVD Player. I had an old Panasonic that just died after five years of great work. Earlier this week I bought a Sony BDPS6700 to replace it. Everyone said it was great. Had not. i hated it Sony generally didn't render DVDs very well. Easy to set up and use, but horrible image no matter how hard I try to tweak it. I sent it back and received a Panasonic. The BDT270 is a budget turntable, nowhere near as good as my old Panasonic; however far superior to Sony. Blu-ray and DVD playback is great. Images are upscaled to near 4K resolution. The Panasonic is more difficult to use and takes longer to set up than the Sony, but the picture is much better. I don't really need any apps since I have a Smart TV, but I tried Netflix and Revain Prime Videos anyway. They took a little longer to load than I wanted, but once loaded they worked great. Again, I bought it to watch DVDs and Blu-rays. It works great and gives a great picture. The sound is great too. Note: I have a Samsung soundbar with a 55" Vizio 4K TV. I had to set the audio output to PCM, Bitstream didn't work with my current configuration. The entire setup and setup took about twenty minutes. If you hesitate between Panasonic and Sony - out of competition. Panasonic is much better. I highly recommend it as an upscaling DVD and Blu-ray player. I bought it from Revain for just under $100.00! You can't go wrong with this product.
