Terrible build quality

TL;DR: The item arrived in a state where it was literally falling apart. It was a gift and looked very bad. What's good: Nice clean retro look, very nice car. Fur: Typing is normal, letters are not aligned well. Not an exact machine, but it works. Not very intuitive to use, but I think it comes with a retro design and the user manual explains everything decently. Bad and Ugly: <Joint Crackling> I suspect this car was built by a gang of raccoons. It didn't even work and literally fell apart. Started typing and some metal balls and 4 screws fell on the table (#1). And when I say typing, that's an exaggeration: 3 keys don't work at all (#2) and lower case letters don't print on paper (#3) Issues: #1 Turns out some screws were used to fix the to attach the base plate. too short and the thread barely held. I'll have to replace them with the same screws, but a little longer, from the local hardware store. #2 Ball holding parts are used without adjustment. Therefore, leave enough space for the balls to fall down. These balls support the whole middle part with hammers and this was the reason the lowercase letters didn't hit (they were too far from the paper). Putting it back together was a pain, but I managed it, and lowercase input seems reliable now. #3 The metal bars that were supposed to attach broken keys to their hammers, where they dangled appropriately, were in the box and missing. I was able to return the 2 I had and had to make one out of a paperclip (because the support staff didn't send the part) to replace the missing one. Finally, the customer support is completely useless. They don't send even the simplest spare part to fix the device. Your only answer is to send it back for a replacement... with the same dodgy build and another week later? No thanks, I'm not risking it, especially considering many other reviewers had serious quality issues. If you're very skilled you can fix all of this, and that makes a relatively decent typewriter for casual use. Otherwise stay away from this device and company. Tip: Sell it as a 3D puzzle, it will be more interesting.

Pros
  • Full size keyboard, 44 keys, 88 characters and Pica 87 font
Cons
  • Not the best

Keys too hard to operate normally burned up 174dollars. Typewriter no good.
