Poor workmanship

This is a cheap imitation created to take advantage of the current interest in retro typewriters. I returned mine because it was so crudely made compared to the old typewriters which were precise machines with fine workmanship. Don't expect that from this thing! The letters are unevenly typed and everything is done very flimsy. There is no automatic ribbon reversal at the end of the roll that every typewriter I've ever used has had. Just not worth the price.

This typewriter is very nice. And I was very happy with the ribbon support levers, which I have never seen on any typewriter myself. But it also has some strange problems. The very first thing I noticed when using it was that the hammers just didn't make that nice clicking sound like they did on an old typewriter. But that didn't bother me too much; I know they don't ALL make that noise. But then I noticed that when I type, the letters seem crooked, especially when I'm typing fast. Then when I…

Great after a change!

Due to all the negative reviews I was so scared to buy it but I really, really wanted it so I jumped at the chance and figured I could return it if needed. I will definitely not come back! I absolutely LOVE it! However, a change was needed. The spacebar is set too low, so my thumb hits the metal case with every press. Very uncomfortable and hurts if left unattended. But I just taped a thick strip of felt (maybe half an inch) over the spacebar and that raised it enough to fix the problem. (see…

Terrible build quality

TL;DR: The item arrived in a state where it was literally falling apart. It was a gift and looked very bad. What's good: Nice clean retro look, very nice car. Fur: Typing is normal, letters are not aligned well. Not an exact machine, but it works. Not very intuitive to use, but I think it comes with a retro design and the user manual explains everything decently.
