This is a great, sturdy baby gate and the door is easy to use. The only problem we’ve run into is with installation. The instructions don’t make it clear that the black tighteners need to be facing a certain direction or else it won’t tighten all the way—it’ll get to a certain point and start clicking. If that happens to you, just take the tightener off the screw and flip it around the other way. Our stairs are exactly at the widest length you can use this gate on, and it took quite a bit of adjusting to make sure that it was exactly centered and all four screws were within the safe width, but once the adjusting was done it is safe and not going anywhere! A couple tips I wish I had before I installed (like I said, it’s not going anywhere so I’m not redoing it!): put the shorter extender on the side that the door opens, make sure that it opens the way you want it to (I wish it was right handed for going down the stairs instead of coming up them), and measure before you open the box!
