Review on FCONEGY B6 Lipo Battery Charger 80W 6A RC Battery Pack Balance Charger Discharger For NiMH/NiCd,LiPo/Li-Ion Battery,With LCD Display,AC Power Supply by Alex Panda

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Lacking features / menus. Discharge limited to 0.8A. Mah readout seems way off.

Overall - Seems to work OK for charging if you do not care about the mah readout. Very limited menus for settings - no Battery Meter menu. Discharge is limited to 0.7 or 0.8A.More in depth:Options / menus:This charger does not contain menu options for Battery Meter and many settings that other chargers have in this price range. The firmware is inferior. It shows "IMAX" for a second while turning on. I wish it had the IMAX options / firmware. but it does not.The hold Dec + Start while plugging in does not get a Calibration menu. So, there is no way to measure the rest voltage of a battery (no Battery Meter option).Charging:I have not tried all of the charge options, but a standard 2A LIPO charge seemed to work. I did not measure the current to confirm. I also do not trust the display numbers to be anywhere near accurate. I checked the voltage readout to the pack voltage and it was pretty close though. Someone seems to have messed up the math or the display value of mah. It does not match simple computations.Discharge:The max discharge setting was 2.0A - There should be a way to set the min voltage to discharge to, but I could not find a setting.Even when set to the max 2.0A discharge it shows 0.7 or 0.8 A while discharging any type of battery. It can't discharge any higher. It will take forever to discharge at 0.7A!The mah reading has to be wrong. 0.7A = 700ma discharge for an hour is 700mah. but discharging for an hour with the display showing 0.7A and the display showed 375 for the mah. duh! Perhaps I do not understand. but I think it should have shown near 700 for the mah. I could be wrong. So Discharge is kind of useless. But I do not really need discharge. This was thirty bucks and now it is listed for forty - Just the charging feature is OK for thirty. I would think you could definitely get a better one for fourty.

Pros
  • it balanced as it charged like it should and better than the original
Cons
  • I have to hold the input jack sideways, otherwise it does not make contact.
