I bought these switches because I wanted an easy way to use the same monitors on two different computers without resorting to a full (and more expensive) KVM switch to have to. . They work great and are easy. Also the fact that they are non-electric is a big plus. I bought two of these switches, one for each of my monitors. I also had to buy a separate USB mouse and keyboard switch. On the other hand, this configuration was much cheaper than a $100+ KVM switch. On the other hand, I have to press three buttons to switch completely, not just one, and a real KVM switch would probably have less latency when switching between inputs. However, an interesting benefit of my setup is that it's very easy for me to run a computer on each monitor if needed.
