I bought this item to fix a cracked aluminum pan on my S10 4.3. I paid an extra for next day shipping and received it with no problems. Now I'm trying to install it for the first time, even following the instructions I slowly discovered, unfortunately, that the aluminum on my skillet was stronger than the metal on this item, quickly the BOLT broke off leaving me at zero. My only solution, which I didn't want to do, was to buy an M16x1 for $40. 50 tapped and made a new profile on the pallet finally I tried one last chance on this screw and got the profile so far and has been leak free so far also the putty they supply is so hard it doesn't stay on the pallet or the bolt guard, all it does is hit the oil pan, i was happy to see that when the new oil leaked out a bit, forgot to mention i eventually dropped the bolt, immediately the magneto fired, so do it I worry that the same thing will happen when driving on a rough road, my review is mixed because my problem is solved for now, but I had to do and spend more than the screw itself to make it work, there isn't much actual tread there , because the shape of the cone obviously doesn't work 3/4 of it and only the last 3/8 inch holds it together., the metal isn't hard enough, the magnet may work loose, the putty is too hard to stay .
