Review on Barista'S Dream: Stainless Steel 350Ml Milk Frothing Pitcher Set For Perfect Latte Art by Ken Pinell

Love My Lattes!: my feedback

I bought this product along with a new espresso maker. In all my years prior having an espresso maker, using the froth spout was too high maintenance for me, so I just heated my milk in the micro. With the purchase of this frothing pitcher, I've started using it because my new machine is easier to clean. This pitcher even comes with a mini-stirrer, with which I'm learning to make froth art--who needs Starbucks in the COVID era?!? The pitcher comes in 3 sizes. I chose the smallest--12 oz. The next size up, 20 oz, may have prevented this but would be too large for the coffee corner of my kitchen counter. I've found that putting too much milk in it causes too much splashing and overflow, so I only put about 2 oz of whole milk to. The milk fat makes a great foam. Because I make 4 oz of espresso and need more than 2 oz of milk, I heat milk in the micro to put in my coffee and use the pitcher for the decorative "hood" of foam. If I were to make a true latte, I'd make less coffee to be proportionate to the steamed milk foam. If I were a purist, I suppose I could learn to layer the steamed milk and, then, the foam. 2 oz of whole milk with froth up to over 12 oz, so I'm still playing with the proportions--it just been a week! TIP: once milk is in the coffee, immediately soak the metal pitcher in warm soapy water for easier cleaning, as scalded milk is very difficult to clean and you don't want to scratch the polished stainless steel with a metal or abrasive scouring pad. Cold water on hot steel could affect the metal.

Pros
  • Excelente producto y fácil para calentar la leche y practicar el latte art
Cons
  • The spout may be too narrow for some users, making it difficult to pour thicker milk froth
