The only reason we needed them at all was because the couple that had been passed from 3 kids to my husband for over 10 years eventually broke up. Maybe glue inside? But they have been used and abused for exploring, hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, etc. for over 10 years. We expect them to last just as long, although my husband tells me it's his and he doesn't need to take any form again of what I give. his own children to get decent sandals. :) Even right out of the box they are as comfortable as his old ones. Don't worry about stains or bubbles. He wears them with and without socks. (I think that's the father's business). They feel just as strong, well made and durable as the old ones. We were very happy to be able to choose them and if something goes wrong I never have to change my rating. We love Keen sandals and I've bought them for every child in the past when they weren't the right size for the right time of year. Otherwise, we pass them on, and they're just as wonderful for every child (and parent).
