I have been trying to find a device that actually transmits near the advertised mile range. The maximum distance we were able to receive a signal from the transmitter to the base station is about 750 feet. It was a disappointment. We also have a Guardian system (designed for half a mile) that provides about 600 feet. Our driveway is nearly 1,000 feet long and lined with trees, so I understand not getting range, but accept the claimed range with a grain of salt.
