Don't expect good cycling shorts at this price

If you buy these cycling shorts and expect to compete with brands like Pearl Izumi or Sugoi, forget it! These cycling shorts are exactly what the price promises. That's what I was looking for when I bought them. I haven't ridden a bike in a few years, so the sticker shock hit me hard when I replaced the cycling shorts in my closet with the brands I'm used to. All I wanted was a pair of shorts that had just enough suede padding to keep me comfortable for miles while I dusted off my riding habits. This list contains my likes and dislikes about these NEENCA cycling shorts. The price is pretty much unbeatable; 2. Suede is just the right thickness, density, and comfort for my ride. Dislikes: 1. Panel build quality is questionable at best. 2. The left and right legs have a thick seam with raised stitches that runs inside the thighs from the center of the suede to the edges of the legs. It's annoying. 3. The hem at the bottom of the shorts is about 4mm wide, not the entire hem. This means that around 150mm of the selvage is turned over rather than holding the shorts in place around the waist. Seriously, this looks like a school home economics sewing project! 4. The suede on the new shorts is hard as cardboard. They shrink quickly, but it's easy to see how uncomfortable the suede area is when these shorts are first put on. 5. Chamois is a little smaller than I'm used to. It's big enough to make me comfortable, but I can see where it can become a source of discomfort on long trips. 6. The material of the spandex and polyester shorts is so thin that it looks like the shorts will sort themselves out when washed. You will probably have to hand wash to avoid damaging the fabric. 7. The fabric does not have enough panels for a good fit or durability. 8. Cycling shorts should do all the functions of cycling shorts well, not just one or two. So, if you just need a pair of cycling shorts as a padded liner, or don't want to break the bank to buy a pair from PI, Giro, Sugoi, or any other well-known brand, these are the ones to check out. If you're looking for the durability of Tour de France cycling shorts, this isn't for you.
