Is the excitement of a new paper towel holder an odd rite of passage into adulthood? Because that thing makes me happy. I had to replace our old paper towel holder after we got a new coffee maker. I then installed this. Vertical, on the side of my cabinet above the sink. I was afraid the reel would slip in the sink and unravel, but as advertised, it holds the reel and delivers on the promise of successful one-handed operation time and time again. The only complaint I have is that, as others have said, the set screws are too long to install the kitchen cabinet whether you place it on the floor or on its side like we did. Luckily the old paper towel holder we removed had much shorter screws so we just used those.
