I started taking computer classes at a local college and suddenly had to download huge programs and run them all at once on my 2011 Macbook. Yes my laptop is an early 2011 model which is almost 9 years old at the moment. Needless to say, it worked SLOWLY. Even before these new programs were downloaded and running, my laptop was crawling forward. I was disappointed and seriously considered buying a new Macbook for over $2000. But my professor suggested just swapping out the RAM in my old computer. I never thought that such a simple and easy fix would bring new life to my laptop, but I can honestly say my laptop is working like new! and easy. I did A LOT of research before purchasing my RAM and found the Crucial brand highly recommended. Although Apple is an American company, most of the parts that make up their computers are made abroad. So don't worry about your RAM being made in China - they're all Chinese. I replaced the RAM over 2 months ago and my computer has had absolutely no problems ever since. It works just as well if not better than the new Macbook - I believe the new 2017 Macbooks only have 8GB RAM so my old lady is actually faster. Now I can run many programs at the same time without any problems. I cannot recommend this RAM enough!
