I am new to the hobby and needed a manual that would give me enough information to get started without a lot of irrelevant details or secret information. I feel like this guide gave me the knowledge I needed to get my first tank up and running. On the other hand, the text repeated itself ad nauseam, the main points repeated over and over again. I get how one hammers important information into your head, but the way this guide is written is to basically say the same thing three times in consecutive paragraphs. This fact sometimes makes scrolling through the text tiring. Another problem I had with the manual is that the photos scattered throughout the book don't really match the descriptions in the text. I have often wondered about the fish or the gear in the photo. Overall I'm glad I bought it and would recommend it to a newbie.
