I will always use these when clients need directional tungsten lighting. The biggest problem I have with gimbals is that the edge of the round fairing usually obstructs the direction of the light. When the artwork is placed higher on the wall, the elbow mount allows the bulb to direct the light along the top without the odd crescent-shaped shadow line.
