My solid-state drive is installed in the second PCI Express 3.0 slot, which is located below the video card. Even under light load, the controller can reach a temperature of sixty degrees. In addition, if you load the video card—and I have a GTX 1080—the temperature goes from 42 (according to the controller) to 58 or 60. Naturally, this is not a deal breaker, but I would prefer a somewhat lower temperature. That's assuming there isn't a radiator in the room.
