I can say they offer complete protection after a hard fall - no bruising, no pain where these guys protected. They're also really good for projects that involve crawling on your knees. They are non-slip once installed, making them ideal for hand and knee work or workouts, and also means they stay in place as fall protection. The softness of the gel combined with the hard shell offers excellent protection. I find them comfortable enough to wear (the liner is soft and the gel works well) although I usually hate the feeling of wearing protective gear. I'm a small adult (women's size 4-6 and small bones) and they fit me well. (The waist belt of the knee pads is the only area I wouldn't say someone taller than that can wear them.) I would give that 5 stars except for the fact that with a knee pad the body rests on a side protrudes forward. If it turns out to be due to storage or something else and normalizes with use I will upgrade it to 5 stars. I would like to find equivalent shin guards.
