Clone 2-Stage Extruder

I've had this extruder for a few months now and it initially worked great after calibrating my E-Steps. Then after the first month I noticed that it had the same issue everyone was reporting online about the lack of a bearing or bushing causing the gear to bite into the lever and causing it to fail and eat the filament. I tried the solutions I found online, sanding down part of the lever and mechanism and adding some bronze washers to make it slide. It did not work. I was still having issues with the printer feeding and grinding the filament, causing problems going through the Steinbock Bowden tube, and causing every print to fail after a few hours. After trying many times to change the calibration settings and minimize the taps, nothing seems to have worked. After about a month of bad prints and filament spools I decided to remove this extruder and replace it with a Micro Swiss Direct Drive. If it worked the way it did on day one it would be a great product. but since it failed so much I wouldn't recommend it. After removing the part and inspecting it further, it looks like it has eaten away at the aluminum lever where the screw goes through the gear and caused it to tilt a bit, which is probably why it's not sticking out. hope this review helps someone else.
