Review on 🚲 Black Basil Cento Aluminum Rear Bike Basket by Abaraham Duvernot

There are a few things to consider when attaching the basket to the bike. using the Cento Alu parts shown above left). I'm not familiar with rack types so all I can say is that option 2 is the only one that might work for me. I guess there's a method to madness. My bike is a Dutch Gazelle and from what I've seen the trunk looks larger than average. You can see in the instructions that there is a "C" part which is like an extruded plastic disc that comes in four possible sizes and you get C2 and C3 for this basket. The screw goes through this part, and the height of the part seems to match the size of the diameter of the outer part of the rack (C2 seems to be the exact same height as my outer part). The assembly method was tricky in that the basket base rods sat snugly on top of the surrounding rack bar, which affected the clearance between the bottom of the basket-attached rods and the F-bar where Part C goes in. This made C2 too big and C3 too small. Concerns were also raised that the basket would not be securely attached to the frame due to insufficient surface area to promote friction. Initially I just used the smaller part of C3 and attached the basket metal to metal (metal to metal to be exact). - color) on it. The rattling of the C3 part when cycling could not be ignored. However, I was shocked to find that despite the bumpy terrain, the stand stayed perfectly secure and didn't damage the paintwork at all. Part F has a rubberized finish, which is very helpful. Anyway, I later found a solution to the problem. In the photos you can see that I attached the bungee cords that came with the bike, but I removed them to initially attach the basket as they cannot be used with the bike. basket over it. We'd probably call them bungee cords, but the Dutch call them "Snelbinders", which might be an appropriate name anyway since they're not actually designed to be bungee cords. I was able to reattach the snelbinders so they can be used as something to increase the height range for part C as well as making the basket sturdier and not touching the metal with the paint. I used most of the C2 due to the increased height and it fit perfectly. As far as I know, this mechanism was originally intended for proper attachment - Basil and Gazelle are actually Dutch companies. I have used the basket several times and have nothing to complain about. You can see in the top to bottom picture that the bars on the basket are currently a bit off center to the rack bars and that's probably because I've been lugging big, heavy books lately. Luckily, the only tool you'll need to attach the basket or make any changes is the small Allen wrench that comes with the kit. I'm sure you can secure something with small bungee cords or bungee cord nets if needed. The basket is big enough for a cotton shopping bag.
