I use it on long cross country trips where muddy conditions can be present. Gets on and off the bike quickly. (I didn't leave it on while carrying the bike in the back of the car.)*** Since it attaches to the tube that supports the seat, that tube needs free space. If your seat is in the lowest position, you do not have room for this device. If your seat is fairly low, you may need to move or remove the rear reflector (and/or saddlebag) to make room for it. I'm 6ft 2in so I was able to get the job done by removing the rear reflector and placing the taillight in the back of my saddlebag. My bike has disc brakes. If you have rim brakes they may increase (?) the space required for this unit.
