I have a 2016 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 Crew Cab with a lot of extras in the truck (sunroof, SYNC 3 touch screen, heated seats etc.). .). What I don't have is an automatic rain sensor so I tried to be careful when replacing my multiswitch because my wipers would suddenly start on their own at the smallest interval and it was so annoying especially when they didn't. It rained most of the time so I only wore out my blades for a week. I bought this tool because several people have confirmed that it fits my truck's make, model, year and trim level. I installed it and it works without any problems. I believe this is the exact part that Ford put in the car from the start, and since people wanted $30 more for a part from another manufacturer, buying it was an easy task. This was the easiest setup I've ever done on my truck (although I've only done a few so far). Here's what you need to be able to replace all your hardware without having to go to the store to buy more parts. You will need a 5.5mm allen key to remove the 3 screws under the steering column (this is easy to see if you just look under the steering wheel). You will need a Torx T10 screwdriver or bit to remove the 2 screws securing the switch assembly. You will need a smaller flathead screwdriver to pry open the two small plastic tabs on the left and right of the steering wheel (they are located slightly behind a small gap between the wheel itself and the steering column). column itself - you will understand what I'm talking about when you remove the cover). The assembly itself pops out immediately. So once you have removed those two star screws, with a slight movement, pull them straight out of the steering column and you will replace them with a new one. Be careful as the circuit board is partially exposed and you want to make sure nothing snaps when you move it. In summary, unscrew 3 5.5mm hex screws from the bottom of the column, insert the steering column with a flat head screwdriver and take out two screws. Then install the multi-switch assembly to the steering column and replace the screws, snap the cover back into place and replace the 5.5mm screws (make sure they are tight enough or the cover will rattle ). This took about 6 minutes including finding a 1/4" impact adapter and 5.5mm bits in my tool box and starting the process. I don't think it would be easier if it wasn't just for the finger. - Accessible release buttons on everything If you don't have the right tools to get started you're going to get caught in the hose - the 5.5mm hex key is very essential for various add-ons and I bought it when I had halogen bulbs exchange for new ones. LEDs and you also need 5.5mm to remove the wheel spats so obviously Ford relies on hex head screws/bolts of this particular size to mount the small parts on their trucks.
