My 8 and 5 year olds absolutely loved it! I wasn't sure if A) it would pique her interest for more than 5 minutes and B) my youngest son would be able to do it on his own - PKG says he's over 6 years old. This has become real entertainment for our family during quarantine. My kids spend 15-25 minutes working on their design (more if they are designing something bigger). My 5 year old son settled in quickly and I helped him create his own TMNT design. He asks for more beads and designs. My oldest daughter deserves many gifts for family and friends. pearls look great when they merge into a pattern. I would recommend this Super Mario set to anyone, adult or child, who loves the Mario franchise. Just a suggestion as we are new to Perler Beads, if you have more than 1 child using the set purchase enough perforated boards for each child to have one. Little did we know this was going to be a hit with our kids and as only 1 block was included one kid had to wait (eagerly) for the other to finish.
