Overall, this is a great way to take Super Mario lovers away from video games and get into the real craft! The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel the patterns included are mostly fillers like question mark boxes and spiked shells. They should have included more characters like Luigi, Peach, Toad, etc. (or at least one more Mario).

Given to my 6 year old niece for her birthday! Collecting patterns gave her great pleasure. Her mother helps with the ironing, of course, but they had a lot of fun. She wears them as necklaces to school and her little kindergarten friends want them too haha. So pretty!

I had this set along with another smaller set and really enjoyed making these patterns. I looked for some on the internet to copy them. I'm in my 30's and I love the retro 8-bit look of the characters. I will probably turn them into Christmas decorations as I saw in another reviewer's photos. I will say that sometimes black beads can be more difficult as they stick to your hands due to static electricity. Overall it was a blast and it was hard to stop doing it once I started. My 8 and 5 year olds absolutely loved it! I wasn't sure if A) it would pique her interest for more than 5 minutes and B) my youngest son would be able to do it on his own - PKG says he's over 6 years old.
