Installed this antenna and drove it to the car wash a few days later. Came out the other end and the antenna is gone. I have contacted the seller to say this is not "wash guard" and was asked to send a photo of the antenna. Since the antenna got lost in the car wash, I sent a photo of the installation location of the antenna. They told me that the wash protection just means it won't break in a car wash. From the photo they concluded mine was unscrewed, meaning they installed it incorrectly. To be clear, this installs by screwing into the bracket. That's all. It's hard to screw up, isn't it? They said it was necessary to use Loctite which was not mentioned in the instructions. So keep in mind that, at least in my case, a washable antenna is not washable. Disappointing because I liked its looks!
