Playtex advertised its gloves for those suffering from 'hands under the dishes' on TV in the '60s. And they are still good gloves. But if you have XL arms like me, you know that some things say they're XL, but they're not. They are tight but they are XL size gloves. I've only opened one pack so far, but these are better than disposable hiking gloves because you can just soak them in some chlorox and water for a minute or so when you get home. Let them dry on your dish rack and you're good to go next time you go out. Or you can use them to wash dishes. They have a fairly well textured surface to grip, although the cuff can be a bit longer if you fill the shell to the brim. Like I said they are REALLY a little tight in size XL. And if I had to wear them for a long time, my arthritic hands would probably get tired, but they wouldn't start to hurt in them. I would definitely recommend them to everyone instead of disposable gloves which are sometimes hard to come by and wasteful if you only use them once and then throw them away. These gloves are durable, but, as the '60s ad said, "they're so thin you can lift a dime in them"! And you really can!
