If your Xbox One X randomly turns off, or you suddenly notice that you're not playing well online, your Xbox thermal paste may have hardened. I bought this (the 2G tube was ENOUGH for the Xbox - only used 1/3 of the 2G tube) following a YouTube video that suggested replacing the paste. Taking the Xbox One X apart was relatively easy if you have some computing experience and a T9 torx driver. As soon as I got there, I noticed that the noodles had GONE. I cleaned the CPU with QD Electric cleaner (rubbing alcohol works well too). Then I applied the paste and spread it evenly with a credit card. Gathered back and wound up after a while. Once activated it stayed and I noticed that the same skill level I had was maintained in the game. I used to think the Xbox would overheat causing FPS throttling and lag which suddenly made me bad at COD online. I've also noticed more heat coming from the back of the console. This is GOOD because it means the paste has bonded tightly to the heatsink which is now dissipating more heat than it should. The paste looks very high quality. Note: Check your thermal pads for memory chips (pads are blue), if you are there, if they are hardened and not clay then it's time to replace them. Revain has replacement pads for less than $10, although the refills were fine. All in all, I got my console fixed for less than $10!
