Review on Baban Squeegee Cleaning Straight Extension by David Pack

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I wish my family had it sooner!

During the summer cleaning, my father did a thorough job of washing the outside of the house, especially the windows. My parents are getting old, and my mother objected to my father climbing the stairs to clean the bedroom windows, which even a very tall man cannot reach. For reference, I once had a 6ft 2 friend try to hit the window with a toy styrofoam baseball bat, but the friend could not reach the window pane. for my parents, but I didn't expect much. I really expected this tool to be fragile and prone to breakage. It's not, I'm glad to say! Although I banged the tool around the house because I was too lazy to break the handle apart and my dad leaned on the long tool to see how the cleaning head/squeegee would hold up, absolutely nothing broke. . this tool! Also, my height of 5ft 10inches is enough to get from the floor to the bedroom windows of the house with this tool! My father or even my mother only need a small step stool to be able to clean the bedroom windows from the outside! The handle is made up of many segments, which can be tedious if you need the full length of the handle. It's worth the trade-off: you can easily adjust the length of the handle you want, and it's a lot easier to stow parts and manage than trying to find a place to prop the entire assembly somewhere it will fit. This introduces a nuance that doesn't concern me or my father, but it does concern my mother and may pose a problem for some. The handle segments have springs at the ends. The springs have "ears" that fit into corresponding slots on the other handle segment. So to install the segment you need to push the spring ears down so they fold into the handle then slide the segment over to compress the ears. Once the segment you are adding has moved over the ears you were holding, you can release them, finish sliding the segment down, and then rotate the segment until its slots line up with the spring grommets and the ears out of the slots jump out. connect segments together. To separate the segments you need to push the spring tabs down very hard so they are pushed under the slotted segment then you can easily slide the segment. Here's the problem: it requires moderate strength and skill. in order to do this. My father and I have no problem with that. But my mom, who has progressive arthritis, probably couldn't assemble the full length of the handle of this tool. If you or someone who wants to use this tool has problems with their hands, this could be a problem. The spring lugs hold the handle segments together really well so I won't blame this tool on the design as I feel it is necessary to ensure that no parts of this tool come loose during use. Me and my parents are very happy that we have this tool. My dad and I know this will make window cleaning a lot easier and my mom feels better because neither my dad nor I are hanging down the stairs trying to clean windows!
