I record bands and travel to them/other places to track them and my laptop is quite old and doesn't have the required I/O to work with my Thunderbolt interface to work. Rather than investing in a new laptop that has minimal use beyond remote tracking, I can now move my iMac with ease, and in this case, pack everything I need to get around. No more blankets being thrown randomly across the screen hoping it won't get scratched.
