Purchased to replace a broken cable by purchasing a multifunction hub/dongle separately. This cable worked as advertised and can be used for both power and data. I'm not a techie - transferring data to an external SSD (photos and videos) is very fast. Well built, appears to be very durable - only time will tell but I can't imagine putting it through extreme physical use - so I'm happy.
