I chlorinate city water and have been thinking about a filter for a long time. This filter is simple and contains sediment and char, which is probably all you need for city water. The inlet and outlet are plastic with 1" NPT threads, so don't overdo it. I used adapters with a 1" to 3/4" sleeve and sweated copper with a bypass and pressure gauge on the inlet side. I already have another pressure gauge downstairs so I can check the pressure drop. The bracket holding the filters is heavy gauge steel and of rigid construction.I used concrete wedge anchors for attachment.I noticed immediately that my water no longer smells has which is nice. The charcoal filter needs a little washing. Look at my picture. I'm not a plumber but I think it worked.
