Ryzen 5000 owners beware

This memory will not run at advertised speeds on most X570/B550 platforms with a Zen 3 processor unless your motherboard QVL specifically lists it as compatible. In my case, turning on the memory at the specified frequency of 3600MHz and timings of 16-19-19-36 caused the BIOS to freeze and become completely inoperable (although Windows did boot), and running MemTest86 with 4 passes showed 12 memory errors before the 2nd pass was completed. I'm sure it's much more stable on some Intel chipsets, but if like me you want 3600MHz memory for your shiny new FCLK Zen 3 1800MHz processor, then stick with QVL. The Zen 3 IMC is very picky. Installing the memory itself was no more or less difficult than any other memory I've used. The lighting looks very nice, but then again, it's difficult to appreciate the bells and whistles of the memory when it's not working properly. The modules themselves are very tall, so make sure you have room for top-mount heatsinks before purchasing. Note that Corsair sells the Vengeance Pro "SL" (slim, much shorter) model if you have styling issues, but again, Ryzen buyers should watch out for kits that aren't included in your mobile device's QVL.
