Hedgehogs need to be kept at a good and warm temperature or they will hibernate if they don't eat or sleep all day. Except they can't hibernate and just think they can, causing them to starve themselves. So when I woke up at 3am to my thermostat beeping, I was surprised my lightbulb wasn't working and even more surprised why. The carvings on the flask have literally melted and deformed, and the carvings on the inside of the ceramic on the dome have somehow disappeared (the best guess is that the melting flask melted them)? The product says it can handle 250w ceramic bulbs which is what I wanted and it worked great for a month and a half before it broke. Now I'm stuck trying to find a replacement online because traditional pet stores don't usually sell bulbs over 150 watts and the nearest exotic pet store is 45 minutes away and in the opposite direction from everywhere I need to go during the season.
