If you want to attach a cold shoe to a cage, arm or gimbal, this will do. Fixing screw in stainless steel, the rest in anodized aluminum. When you put on the cold shoe accessory, it presses on the locking wedge. Once you reach the end, the wedge will pop out, holding the accessory securely in place. It works best with accessories that have a flat base. Some of my flashlights have a small ball bearing or retractable pin in the base - it tends to get stuck in the screw mounting hole. If your accessory has a pin or ball bearing, wrap some tape around the hole.
