I have to admit I haven't used my old carbon blocks in over a year and have only replaced them because they say they are replaced every six months. I haven't had bad smells since the old carbon blocks and after seeing the old ones I'm not sure I need to replace them anymore but peace of mind is a very precious thing. New filters were shipped in separate batches with a difference of several hours. Took about half an hour to install in my Big Blue, the main problem was that the canisters seem to have gotten tighter over the last year (I used a hitch with a ball receiver from a car to increase my key leverage and avoid injury ) - definitely used the vent valves on top of each canister. Installing the new filters was very easy and I added some safe grease to both washers on either end of the filters and everything was fully installed in minutes.
