This meter shows watts and kWh consumed. Very helpful. I recently installed Powerwall. This showed that the house was using far more electricity than it should have been. I bought a 120 volt power meter to test all the plugs. No problems were found in 120 volt circuits. I bought this and installed it with a plug and socket to plug my heat pump water heater into. He used 4000 watts, he should have used 500 watts! Turns out he was in failure mode when using resistive heating elements instead of turning on the heat pump. I should have bought this a long time ago. It's not as simple as 120 volt plug-in power meters. I had to build a box to mount it and the jack and then connect the plug for the input. It measures the current and voltage flowing through the box, giving you watts and integrating over time into the kilowatt hours you are paying for. It would be nice if it would fit a regular sized hole so I didn't have to make a custom box. That's the only reason I didn't give five stars. It's not easy to set up unless you have good electrical skills. It would be nice if they made a box that it fits in so you only have to wire up the inputs and outputs. Please note: This is the 100 amp version. Make sure you order the right one.
