How can someone sell something so good for so little money?

I will miss these cheap Chinese goods after Trump wins the trade war. Only $35 for a pair when I bought them. They work as expected and show no signs of poor quality. The design is correct - they go way over center to stay securely closed even before tying the handle.

SPECIFICATIONS: (2) Painted forged steel with handle hook. Chain Brackets accept 5/16" Class 70 conveyor chain and 3/8" Class 43 chain. Assembly Tensile Strength 16,200 lbs, Maximum Load 5,400 lbs.
