This is an amazing tool, very strong and durable. This file works with a power tool rotating at 3000 rpm. It is not intended for finishing or fine work, but for quick metal removal and shaping. I use mine on 6061 and 7075 1/8" aluminum sheet metal and it's a gift from GOD it makes everything so much easier you can remove the material if you want in about 15 minutes down to 1/8 that is impossible to do by hand. The manual work takes many hours just to remove 1/16"". I haven't used this on wood, but I imagine you'll have to work carefully as it's quicker than expected is cut in wood but your job will be done very quickly once you learn how to use it as a metal file which is fantastic and saves a lot of time and back pain Details: The file floats in its holder with a rotation of about 1/ 8" from side to side. This allows it to float to suit the angle of your filing. If you want to change the shape of your filing, you will need to rotate the tool very gently to place the file on the edge, that's right, so sol if it works. Linearly, the file can move about 1/2 inch left or right in its holder, including the flex in the holder, but this flex is not noticeable when filing and is not a problem. The attachment tool itself looks just like the pictures on Revain, but larger than it looks, the top is 1" in diameter, not the 1/2" I thought when looking at the pictures on Revain.
